Lakeland Vision Board Meeting – February 6th
The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, February 3, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at the Polk Museum of Art (800 East Palmetto Street, Lakeland, FL 33801), 2nd Floor Library.

The Age Friendly Lakeland (AFL) Committee will come together for meetings in January 2020 on the following dates:
– AFL Leadership Team Meeting – Wednesday, January 15th at 11:30 a.m.
– AFL Committee Meeting – Wednesday, January 22nd at 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at Mitchell’s Coffee House located on North Kentucky Ave., 33801.
The mission of Age Friendly Lakeland is to promote, educate and advocate for older adults and their families.
Through collaboration with non-profit and for-profit organizations, Age Friendly Lakeland maximizes opportunities for seniors to be active, healthy, and engaged with their neighbors by connecting them with resources, each other, and their community. With an emphasis on promoting inclusive livability, Age Friendly Lakeland offers guidance as to available programs, community outreach, and a Senior Brain Trust.

The Transportation & Affordability Committee will meet on Thursday, January 9th at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall in the Commission Conference Room. Meeting agenda will include an update regarding the pilot project with One More Child and discussion of the structure, invitees and timing of our planned HR Roundtable in the spring (2019). The Transportation & Affordability Committee is chaired by Lakeland Vision board member, Carole Philipson.
The Lakeland Vision Board will meet on Thursday, December 5th at 8:30 a.m. at the Polk Museum of Art. Board members will review and approve the 2020 budget proposal, approve board nominees for the 2020-2022 term, discuss outreach to Implementation Partners regarding the newly updated Vision and fundraising efforts.
No board meeting in January. The next scheduled board meeting is Thursday, February 6, 2020.

The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, November 7th at 8:30 a.m. at the Polk Museum of Art’s 2nd Floor Library. In additional to regular business items, board members will begin identifying key community leaders to begin meeting with to share the newly updated Vision for Lakeland.
The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will be unveiling the newly updated community vision to the Lakeland City Commission on Monday, November 4th at 3:00 p.m. at the City’s regularly scheduled commission meeting. Pat Steed, Vision Refresh Chairwoman, and Laura Rodriguez, Executive Director of Lakeland Vision will be presenting the new Vision which will kick-start a community wide outreach effort to education citizens, businesses, organizations and individuals of this citizen inspired strategic plan.

Chamber President & CEO Cory Skeates and Chief Development Officer Darla Sechrest Petteway will be featured on November 3rd The Listen Lakeland Radio Show discussing the changes happening at the Chamber Foundation with a focus on BidSimpleonline.com which is a local leads generating software that allows consumers to seek services from reputable Chamber Investors.
Also, Ashley Link, Chairwoman of Lakeland Vision joined our Executive Director, Laura Rodriguez, in the studio this week to talk about the Visioning process and how citizen participation remains vital as we roll out this new, citizen-inspired strategic plan to the greater Lakeland area! After several months of gathering citizen input and analyzing data, Lakeland Vision is beyond excited to unveil the updated community Vision for our city! This is YOUR Vision, Lakeland!
