Dr. Silviana Falcon, Florida Southern College
Dr. Silviana Falcon has lived in Lakeland her entire adult life, making it truly her home. Before transitioning to academia, she served for over 12 years as a Healthcare Administrator at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, managing the daily operations, budgets, and resources of a 96-bed tertiary hospital and an outpatient mental health clinic. Her leadership responsibilities included administrative oversight of 10 physicians and more than 250 employees, as well as managing a $50 million budget.
Since joining Florida Southern College 12 years ago, Dr. Falcon has become a tenured professor and now serves as the Associate Provost of Strategic Business Partnerships. In this role, she focuses on building and strengthening connections between academia and industry, fostering opportunities for workforce development, student internships, and executive education. Her scholarly work centers on innovative pedagogy and human resiliency, with notable publications including Lectures and Play: A Practical and Fun Guide to Create Extraordinary Higher Education Classroom Experiences and articles in the Harvard Business Review. She is also the co-author of the textbook From Ideas to Impact, which equips first-year business students with tools for success.
In addition to her academic and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Falcon is a local entrepreneur, managing a Real Estate Investment Corporation and running her own residential and commercial building company as a State Certified Building Contractor.
Dr. Falcon earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College, a Master of Science from the University of South Florida, a Master’s in Health Services Administration from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.
A passionate community member, Dr. Falcon is also a devoted wife of 31 years and a proud mother to three sons. She enjoys hockey, tacos, music, and hosting gatherings, bringing joy and energy to those around her.
