The Executive Committee of Lakeland Vision will meet on Wednesday, April 5th to finish planning for the 2023 annual board retreat which is titled “Lifelong Education in Lakeland” scheduled for April 20th. Members of the committee include Carole Philipson (Chair), Pat Steed (Vice-Chair), Amy Wiggins (Treasurer) and Ileana Kniss (Chair-Elect).

The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, February 2nd at 8:30 a.m. In addition to regular business, new board members for the 2023-2025 term will be welcomed and the newly launched Senior Center Survey will be presented. The AFL Senior Center Sub-Committee Chair is Joe Xanthopoulos from Florida Presbyterian Homes. Age Friendly Lakeland Committee Co-Chairs, Liz Craven and Kari Gomez will also participate in the presentation.

Citizens representing organizations such as Age Friendly Lakeland, Catholic Charities, Lakeland Regional Health, Rath Senior ConNEXTions Center, Florida Presbyterian Homes, Senior Connection Center, and many others have been working together in consideration of a possible “Senior Center.” Your participation in this survey provides valuable information in continuing this effort for the Lakeland community.

The Lakeland Vision and Lakeland Chamber of Commerce joint Education Committee will meet on Tuesday, January 10th at 9:30 a.m. at The Well (located at 114 E. Parker Street, Lakeland 33801).
