The Age Friendly Lakeland Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, June 24th at 11:30 a.m. Due to social distancing, this meeting will be done over Zoom. The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. Board members will meet virtually and will review an Implementation Partner presentation given by Board Chair, Ashley Link and will also receive an update from City Commissioner/Lakeland Vision Board Member, Sara R. McCarley about the City of Lakeland reopening following Covid-19 closures. She will also discuss where the community will go from here.
Lakeland Vision board members are held on the first Thursday of each month (except in January and July).
The CARE Program launches May 4, 2020, and provides assistance with rent and utilities to those who have a verifiable loss of income related to the impacts of COVID-19.

Eligibility:
The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the CARE program:
– Eligible recipients must be a City of Lakeland resident
– Please verify by clicking the button below.
– Eligible recipients must be delinquent on rent and/or public utilities
– Show verifiable loss of income related to COVID-19 impacts
– Household income ≤80% AMI ($47,050 for a family of four)
– Maximum award of three months or $5,000, whichever occurs first

Lakeland Vision will be available remotely as the community accommodates for safety and protection of the COVID-10 virus. All in person Lakeland Vision committee meetings have been canceled at this point. The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will come together for a monthly meeting on Thursday, March 5th at 8:30 a.m. at the Polk Museum of Art (2nd Floor – Library). In addition to regular agenda items (approval of minutes, approval of consent agenda, etc.), the March meeting will feature an update on Lakeland Vision’s Age Friendly Lakeland Committee by AFL Chair, Liz Craven and Coordinator, Allie Bates.

New Lakeland Vision board members will meet for an orientation on Thursday, February 19th at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. New board members for the 2020-2022 term include Ileana Kniss, Trinity Laurino and Dr. Sallie Stone.

– AFL Committee Meeting – Wednesday, January 22nd at 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at Mitchell’s Coffee House located on North Kentucky Ave., 33801.
