The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, February 1st at 8:30 a.m. and will take place at City Hall in the 3rd Floor City Commission Conference Room. The Lakeland Vision Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, December 7th at 8:30 a.m. Votes will be taken for new board members for the 2024-2026 term will be voted on, the 2024 slate of officers and the 2024 budget proposal. Additionally, there will be updates from the Fundraising Committee and the Bike Buddies program.

Lakeland Vision’s Community Unity leadership team will meet on Wednesday, November 29th at 11:30 a.m. The group will follow up on the pilot launch of “Bike Buddies” which is an initiative which creates opportunities for youth and law enforcement to build positive relationships through bicycle repair and mentorship. Partnering organizations include – Lakeland Police Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Pedal Power (a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, Florida Polytechnic University Police, the Lakeland Police Athletic League and Lakeland Vision.

The Community Unity Committee’s Law Enforcement Workgroup will meet virtually on Tuesday, August 8th at 1:00 p.m. The Community Committee is chaired by Rick Maxey and the Law Enforcement Workgroup is led by Carole Philipson.

The retreat will focus on “Lifelong Education in Lakeland” and include an interactive panel discussion with leaders representing different levels of educational opportunities in our community.
